Telkom Launches T-Kash App
Telkom has launched the T-kash App, a simple app that gives consumers access to a broader range of services on its digital financial services platform.
The T-kash App, which is available on the Google Play Store, Huawei App Store, and Apple Store, is a key addition that will allow Telkom users to access T-kash. Customers can use the USSD code *160# to access T-kash.
According to Julius Cheptiony, Telkom’s Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, the T-kash App is the result of a significant study into changing customer patterns. This is with a focus on the need for simplicity, security, availability, and a wide range of services.
T-Kash is a user-friendly platform that aims to make a customer’s experience with mobile financial services as simple as possible.
What you can do with T-Kash
The T-kash App will allow customers to send money to a Telkom mobile wallet, an M-Pesa wallet, and soon an Airtel Money wallet, or a bank account. Customers can as well as buy airtime and data bundles for their own Telkom line or for another Telkom customer, pay bills, and withdraw and deposit money at a T-kash agent.
The T-kash App was launched two months after Telkom and its partners, Ericsson and NEC XON, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide an additional 2,000 locations to Telkom’s network by 2023.
The nationwide rollout is part of Telkom’s long-term network expansion strategy, which was announced in August 2020, when the company underwent a strategic reorganization to address the ongoing digital transformation and lay the groundwork for the company’s long-term goal of becoming Kenya’s and the region’s technology partner of choice.
“Guided by the research data that we have collected during the development phase of this App and the feedback we shall continue to receive from our customers, we will be unveiling more service options in the coming months,” Cheptiony added.
